Red Hat bakes cloud security into the heart of Red Hat OpenShift

Red Hat Inc. has released Red Hat OpenShift Platform Plus, which the company touts as a step up from the previous Red Hat OpenShift platform with several new features for improved hybrid cloud application security, as well as implementation of the DevSecOps methodology, that integrates security into each stage of the software development workflow, SiliconANGLE reports.

The new product’s features include Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes, which provides “deep system-level data collection and analysis” and “more than 60 security policies out-of-the-box that can be applied and enforced from the time that apps are built to when they are deployed and running,” according to Red Hat; Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes, which enables enhanced visibility and management capabilities over Kubernetes clusters across hybrid cloud and multiple cloud environments; and Red Hat Quay, which is a private registry that provides a secure storage and distribution space for enterprises’ container images.

The platform also offers a slate of cloud services that are compatible with Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated, namely: Red Hat OpenShift Streams for Apache Kafka, Red Hat OpenShift Data Science and Red Hat OpenShift API Management.
