New Google cybersecurity training program unveiled

Google has unveiled its new Cybersecurity Certificate cyber training program, which seeks to better prepare aspiring information security, security operations center, cyber defense, and IT security analysts, according to SecurityWeek. Developed by Google and hosted by Coursera, the subscription program will be offered by the University of Texas System, Purdue University, Northern Virginia Community College, and Syracuse University, and will not require relevant experience for those looking to join. "The Google Cybersecurity Certificate will teach learners how to identify common risks, threats, and vulnerabilities, as well as the techniques to mitigate them. The program will prepare people for entry-level cybersecurity roles by providing hands-on experience with industry standard tools including Python, Linux, and an array of security tools, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) programs," said Google, which also noted the commitment of its more than 150 partner organizations across the U.S., in seeking graduates of the program for entry-level jobs.
