VMware unveils SD-WAN Client software

VMware announced that it is offering the VMware SD-WAN Client software for general availability in the spring, according to Network World. VMware SD-WAN Client is designed for use by hybrid or work-from home users, allowing their PC and mobile devices to securely connect to VMware's SD-WAN services without having to use a remote-access virtual private network. The solution also offers management, visibility, and policy support that users would normally be able to access in an office setting, is able to create secure tunnels and can establish high-performance private network fabrics between clouds, servers and remote workers devices. VMware's Vice President and General Manager of SASE Business Craig Connors said, All of the challenges that led IT to deploy SD-WAN in the first place, like simplicity of management at scale, automation, visibility, and network error correction, are amplified as people work from home. The software client will bring all of that SD-WAN technology right to your desktop or mobile phone and leapfrog legacy remote access VPNs via a cloud-native, cloud-delivered package.
