Amazon Web Services took the opportunity at this year’s re:Invent conference to roll out its new AWS Cloud WAN networking solution, which provides users the ability to connect their on-premise data centers and branch offices as well as their cloud environments, according to SiliconANGLE.
AWS Cloud WAN allows enterprise IT personnel to consolidate the various individual software products they typically use for cybersecurity, cloud access and on-premises data centers into a single platform.
"With AWS Cloud WAN, customers can simplify how they manage a WAN by using a central dashboard to unify the multiple networks they manage today, implement network policies for performance and security, easily add locations, and automate advanced network settings,” said Amazon EC2 Vice President David Brown.
IT teams could, for instance, increase cybersecurity by requiring all data traffic going to the corporate cloud environment to go through a firewall, or isolate different IT systems from each other to mitigate the impact of potential security breaches that compromise a portion of the company’s data infrastructure.
