Two men arrested for Photobucket breach

Two men have been arrested and charged with a breach of the Photobucket website and conspiring to sell passwords and other sensitive information. Brandon Bourret, 39, and Athanasios Andrianakis, 26, allegedly conspired to commit computer fraud and abuse, access device fraud, identification document fraud and wire fraud, according to a release.

Authorities say the two men developed, marketed and sold a software application, called Photo[*]ucket, which allowed users to bypass privacy settings to access and copy Photobucket users' private content without permission. They then used the software to obtain guest passwords and to access password-protected albums. They also arranged for the transfer of guest passwords for those who paid to use the application.

The FBI is still investigating. The two men face more than a decade in jail and more than half a million dollars in fines if convicted.
