IBM acquires cloud security provider, Lighthouse Services Group

IBM continues to beef up its security portfolio by acquiring cloud security services provider Lighthouse Security Group, a subsidiary of Lighthouse Computer Services, Inc., according to a release.

The company offers an identity management solution that IBM intends to add to its identity and access management portfolio – which also includes identity and access governance technology from CrossIdeas, another recent acquisition by the technology giant. Together the offerings will give IBM a full security software suite.

The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Over the last decade, IBM has acquired more than a dozen security firms, which adds to its total of more than 6,000 security researchers and 25 security labs worldwise. In 2013, the company made one of its biggest acquisitions in the space after acquiring Trusteer in a deal worth around $1 billion.
