The number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices is poised to be catapulted into the stratosphere over the next couple of years and the security industry has great opportunity to secure them, according to Michael Kaiser, executive director of the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA).
Noting that around 25 percent of consumers recently surveyed are controlling a device in their homes from a mobile device, Kaiser told SCMagazine.com, “We're at this little moment, this inflection point on IoT if we get it right now…we can really help people do this safely and securely.”
The NCSA hosted a morning conference at NASDAQ in Times Square Monday called “Securing the Internet of Things” to mark Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
