Chipotle Twitter account hacked, racist messages posted

Chipotle's Twitter account was hacked on Sunday and attackers sent out obscene tweets in addition to changing the brand's profile image to a swastika.

A representative for the Mexican food chain acknowledged the attack and apologized to its thousands of followers after regaining control of the account.

The messages sent out by the hackers – whose attack only lasted several minutes – targeted government agencies, as well as President Barack Obama. In addition to changing the profile image and sending out the hateful messages, the account's bio was changed to "the official Twitter account of @TUGFeds and @TheCeltic666." The two Twitter accounts mentioned in the bio have been deactivated.

This isn't the first time that Chipotle's Twitter account has made headlines. Less than two years ago the company faked a Twitter account hack to create publicity for the restaurant's 20th anniversary.
