No breach evidence found in DraftKings following reported hack

CNBC reports that online sports betting platform DraftKings disclosed not having identified any evidence of a systems breach after reports from The Action Network and social media posts revealed some of its users have been impacted by unusual account activity that resulted in bank account withdrawals. Less than $300,000 of customer funds have been compromised by the irregular DraftKings account activity, which may have stemmed from the compromise of users' login information from other sites, which was the same used for their DraftKings accounts, according to DraftKings co-founder and President for Global Technology and Product Paul Liberman. FanDuel, which competes with DraftKings, also reported recent increases in attempted hacking incidents against the platform, all of which have been unsuccessful. "We remind our customers about the importance of good cybersecurity hygiene. FanDuel encourages customers to please stay vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity if they suspect their account has been compromised," said FanDuel.
