CyberMaryland conference returns, hosts job fair for military vets

CyberMaryland, a conference in its fourth year that supports cyber security initiatives and training in the state, will take the national stage this fall. On October 29 and 30, the event will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center and work to connect entrepreneurs and military veterans with those in the security industry, a press release from Gov. Martin O'Malley's office said.

This year, the conference will feature nationally-recognized speakers and panelists, including Harvey Mudd College president Maria Klawe, an advocate for women in STEM education, and Daniel Obodovksi, co-author of The Silent Intelligence: The Internet of Things.

The conference will be anchored by the Maryland Cyber Challenge and Competition, the ClearedJobs.Net Cyber Job Fair, and the CyberMaryland Industry Showcase, which will feature security firms, contractors, small businesses, educational institutions and financial organizations. The job fair will provide guidance for military transitioning into civilian jobs, the release said.
