Over 235K individuals’ PHI possibly compromised in Keystone Health breach

Pennsylvania-based primary care provider team Keystone Health has confirmed being hit with a data breach that may have compromised 235,237 individuals' protected health information, reports HealthITSecurity. Data breach at Keystone Health was identified on Aug. 19, with a later investigation revealing that its system had its files accessed from July 28 to Aug. 19. Such files were found to have patients' names and clinical data, as well as their Social Security numbers. "To help prevent something like this from happening again, we are implementing new network security measures and providing additional training to our employees," said Keystone Health in a notice sent to people who have been affected by the incident. A separate breach has also affected Arizona-based community health center Valle del Sol. Valle del Sol was able to determine suspicious network activity on Jan. 25 and later found that 70,268 individuals had their PHI accessed or obtained by threat actors.
