Sophos announces appointment of new CTO

Sophos announced on Tuesday the appointment of Joe Levy as chief technology officer (CTO).

Levy is no stranger to the CTO role – he previously served as CTO of Blue Coat Systems after the company acquired Solera Networks, where he had been serving as CTO since 2008, according to a Tuesday release. Prior to that, Levy held the role of CTO at SonicWALL, which was acquired by Dell.

On top of his work experience, Levy holds several security, networking, database and virtualization patents, and he also coauthored a book on wireless network security.

“I'm very excited to join the talented team at Sophos,” Levy said. “As a global leader in endpoint, network, and data security, and with a powerful cloud security platform, Sophos has all the technology needed to deliver the complete security solution that customers require.”
