Q1 Labs, provider of network security management solutions, has become the first member of McAfee's Security Innovation Alliance. In that role, Q1 has built device support modules to be used for event monitoring across McAfee's ePolicy Orchestrator solution.

BD-BrandProtect has joined the Forum for Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST). The vendor said it was selected because of its experience and success in helping businesses detect and respond to online threats.

Tizor, provider of data auditing and protection solutions, has closed an $8.3 million round of venture capital funding. The round was lead by Longworth Venture Partners.

Saflink, maker of intellectual property protection solutions, has completed its merger with IdentiPHI, which provides identity assurance through biometrics and smart cards. Under the deal, each outstanding share of IdentiPHI was exchanged for 6.1498 shares of Saflink stock. The company has combined management teams and will operate as IdentiPHI.

Sentrigo, provider of database security software, has named Michael Stiglianese to its advisory board. He is the former chief information technology risk officer at Citigroup, having spent 28 years with the company. On the Sentrigo board, he will offer expertise on financial institutions.

Abaca Technology, producer of email security technology, has joined the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group as a supporting member. The group is a trade association that allows messaging security companies to collaborate over spam, viruses and denial-of-service attacks.

AirMagnet, a wireless security firm, has partnered with InfoLogix, provider of healthcare mobility and RFID solutions. InfoLogix is integrating AirMagnet's WLAN management and troubleshooting tools into its suite of solutions to appeal to healthcare customers.

Bertucci's
, a Northeast-based Italian restaurant chain, has renewed its Endpoint Security and Control license with Sophos. The offering provides malware detection and prevention by leveraging its host-based intrusion prevention system technology to defend against new and unknown threats.

Springboard Research
, an IT market research firm, has appointed Michael Barnes as vice president of software research. He will be responsible for assisting leadership in Asia, where he is based.

SanDisk's Cruzer Enterprise solution has been selected by the state of Washington's Division of Child Support to secure its USB flash drives and central management and control server software. The division manages roughly 350,000 active child-support cases.
