Writer and activist Barrett Brown, who at one time faced a multitude of federal charges related to sharing a link to credit card numbers in the breach of intelligence firm Stratfor, has pleaded guilty to two of the remaining three federal charges against him.
Although the plea agreement was sealed, a superseding indictment filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas indicates Brown will admit to serving as an accessory after the fact to an unauthorized access to a protected computer and obstructing justice in the execution of a search warrant.
A public face of hacktivist collective Anonymous, Brown had originally faced multiple charges but a federal prosecutors moved to dismiss 11 counts in early March, leaving three indictments before the courts. Brown still faces a charge related to threatening a federal agent in a YouTube video.
