Blackphone and Silent Circle announce bug bounty programs

Blackphone and Blackphone-developer Silent Circle announced the launch of bug bounty programs on Tuesday, with part of the goal being to develop strong relationships with researchers in order to meet a high standard of security, Daniel Ford, CSO of Blackphone and Silent Circle, stated in a release.

The Blackphone program targets bugs in PrivatOS, including available updates and integrated applications, as well as Blackphone update servers and associated web portals. The Silent Circle program targets bugs in Silent Circle endpoint applications on supported OSes, Silent Circle network services and cloud infrastructure, and associated websites and web services.

Both programs offer a standard reward of $128 per qualifying vulnerability; however, that reward could be more or less depending on the severity of the bug.
