Company News: Barracuda Networks hires new CEO

»William “BJ” Jenkins (left) has joined Campbell, Calif.-based Barracuda Networks as president, CEO and member of its board. Jenkins was formerly the president of EMC's backup recovery systems (BRS) division, and will now lead strategy and growth as the security and data protection solutions firm moves toward its IPO.

»Incapsula has launched a new alliance program to give hosting providers partnership opportunities at the Redwood Shores, Calif.-based company. Web-hosting providers and managed security service providers (MSSPs) will be able to team up as affiliates, gaining commissions upon referrals, or as resellers of Incapsula services. The move will help Incapsula grow its cloud-based DDoS optimization services.

»The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has expanded its Cybersecurity and Communications Office to include two new divisions: Federal Network Resilience (FNR) and Network Security Deployment (NSD). Both will operate under the National Cybersecurity Division. FNR will oversee implementation of the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), work with civilian agencies and audit federal networks. NSD will oversee the National Cybersecurity Protection System, the Cyberscope tool – which is used to help agencies report their IT security status – and coordinate situational awareness services with the private sector.

»William “Bill” Barker III has joined as CFO at Chicago-based security solutions firm Trustwave. Also, Alice Lin Geene (right) has been appointed as general counsel at the company. Barker previously served as senior VP and CFO of Federal Signal, while Greene was the group VP and interim general counsel at Orbitz Worldwide

»KeyW, a cyber security solutions firm, has acquired Sensage, a security information and event management company based in Redwood City, Calif. The acquisition will help expand cyber awareness products and services offered at the Hanover, Md.-based company. 

»EMC has acquired Montreal-based Silicium Security to expand capabilities to address advanced cyber threats through RSA, its security division. Bedford, Mass.-headquartered RSA will also expand through a partnership with Booz Allen Hamilton. The companies will work to create new offerings for security services.

»Burlington, Mass.-based Veracode has purchased Marvin Mobile Security, a firm based in the San Francisco Bay area that specializes in mobile malware detection. The acquisition will expand application security offerings at Veracode.

»Ron Matros, has been named CEO of Content Raven, a Marlborough, Mass.-based company that provides intellectual property security consulting. Previously, Matros was the CEO and president of Inmagic, based in Woburn, Mass. He has also held leadership positions at MetaCarta and iConverse, among other roles.
