A GOP strategist in Florida last year received 2.5 Gigabytes of information from Guccifer 2.0 purloined from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and of which he told the Wall Street Journal “basically if this was a war, this is the map to where all the troops are deployed.”
Aaron Nevins, who writes the HelloFLA blog, had sent a message to the hacker, believed to be a front for the Russian APT groups that hacked Democratic interests, including the Democratic National Committee (DNC), asking for information of interest in Florida.
Nevins reportedly told Guccifer 2.0 that the DNC likely “spent millions probably to figure out who these people are that are conducive to their message and now it's exposed for the other side.”
The Florida operative blogged about some of the data and then sent a link to Trump surrogate Roger Stone, who is under scrutiny for his ties to Russia and has claimed to have contact with Guccifer 2.0.
