Apple patches AirPort Base Station Firmware

Apple released several patches to addressed several vulnerabilities in its 7.9.1 update concerning its AirPort Base Station Firmware.

The update is available for AirPort Extreme and AirPort Time Capsule base stations with 802.11ac.

The vulnerabilities that could allow a remote attacker to leak memory, cause a denial of service, cause arbitrary code execution, not delete all user information, or unexpectedly accept Source-routed IPv4 packets, according to a May 30, security notice.

One of the vulnerabilities was an out-of-bounds read bug that was addressed with improved input validation while another fix was to a denial of service issue was also addressed with improved validation. Apple doesn't disclose details on security issues until an investigation has occurred and patches or releases are available.
