Arrests made in Commack High School hack

Three Commack High School students were arrested by the Suffolk County, N.Y. police department and charged with hacking into the school's computer system.

Daniel Soares was charged with two counts of third degree burglary, three counts of third degree computer tampering, three counts of second degree identity theft, one count of computer trespass and one count of eavesdropping.

Erick Vaysman was charged with one count of third degree computer tampering and one count of fourth degree criminal solicitation.

Alex Mosquera was charged with one count of computer trespass and one count of fourth degree criminal solicitation.

In July the Commack school administration told police that its computer system had been compromised and the schedules for 300 students had been altered.

“Types of information that may have been viewed include student ID numbers, name, address, contact information, and student schedules,” according to school system statement.
