Brussels hosts ID theft spam forum

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is to host a workshop on spam prevention this week.

The forum will examine how spammers obtain personal details, false identities and profit, and how technology provides new spamming opportunities. Talks will also be held on what industry and legislation can do to prevent spam.

The event will be held at the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium, on February 2 and 3, 2004.

Dave Jevans, senior vice president of marketing for internet software provider Tumbleweed Communications and chairman of the Anti-Phishing Working Group, will be a featured speaker at the forum.

Jevans will also host an anti-phishing conference in London on Wednesday.
