His tenure in technology spans more than 30 years, with the last 28 years spent in information security and risk management. He has served as chief information security officer (CISO) at three enterprises - Nationwide, Huntington Bank and CBC Innovis – for which he received the 2006 Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) Excellence in the Field of Security Practices award. He has picked up numerous awards since then.
Jones commitment to the industry is demonstrated by his service on the ISACA CRISC Certification Committee and RiskIT Task Force, as well as the ISC2 Ethics Committee. As leader of the FAIR Institute, he has ushered in a revolution in the way that the world’s leading organizations measure and manage cybersecurity risk. Under his leadership the Fair Institute’s membership has grown exponentially over the past three years, now boasting more than 5,000 security and risk professionals in its ranks. The FAIR model that Jones created offers peers a forum for learning about digital risk scenarios affecting their industries; collect and create information risk management best practices; and learn to better communicate with their boards and executive teams.
