Top Management – Roy Katmor

Category: Top Management

Name: Roy Katmor

Title: Co-founder and CEO

Company: enSilo

Why nominated: Known as a do-it-yourself master who enjoys fixing everything from cars to homes, enSilo CEO Roy Katmor is now trying to fix endpoint security.

Profile: Katmor co-founded enSilo three years ago with a vision to secure data at the most fundamental level in order to eliminate endpoint vulnerabilities and ensure that endpoints are protected from cyberattacks even when malicious actors bypass all available defenses.

He now continues to build on his vision to fundamentally secure systems differently, as evidenced by enSilo's contributions toward thwarting numerous targeted ransomware attacks, such as WannaCry, while protecting data belonging to countless government agencies, healthcare organizations, academic institutions, and private enterprises.

According to his nomination, Katmor and his enSilo teammates also contribute free threat research and patches to mitigate vulnerabilities left open and unaddressed by vendors and developers, such as the ESTEEMAUDIT Windows Remote Desktop exploit. They also publish free advisories that address immediate threats from malware and other advanced attacks with the goal of protecting legacy systems.

Katmor has garnered a reputation as a self-motivator and strong relationship builder whose rapport with peers and customers has been immensely valuable. His past experience as a product manager, security market strategist and an industry leader includes a stint leading and managing Akamai's overall security strategy. Before that, he managed Imperva's data security products and architecture management solutions. And he has held various product management and leading R&D roles at several international public and privately held companies.

What colleagues say: "Committed, talented, customer focused, very technical, loyal, and a tremendous asset to the team. Senior development leader, product architect, and a “risen” star in our organization. Roy Katmor is the team member that helps move the needle from good to great."
