Laptop Containing Sensitive Data on Clinton Email Hack is Stolen

By Marcos Colon

A laptop belonging to a Secret Service agent has been stolen from her unoccupied vehicle in Brooklyn, New York.

The agent’s car was parked in the driveway when the break-in occurred, according to a report by CBS2 New York.

While the computer does not contain sensitive information tied to the White House, there is data on the Hillary Clinton campaign email investigation, in addition Trump Tower floor plans and evacuation protocols for the building. Sources confirmed with CBS2that the information on the laptop cannot be remotely erased.

“Secret Service issued laptops contain multiple layers of security including full disk encryption and are not permitted to contain classified information,” the agency said in a statement issued.  “An investigation is ongoing and the Secret Service is withholding additional comment until the facts are gathered.”
