Cybersecurity professionals say it is pretty simple to sort through 650,000 emails in eight days or less despite criticism from Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump and his supporters.
On Sunday, hours after Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey provided his latest update from Congress concerning the Clinton email scandal, Trump said, “You can't review 650,000 emails in eight days,” during a campaign speech in Michigan.
“Given those emails, and a list of known email accounts from Hillary and associates, and a list of other search terms, it would take me only a few hours to do reduce the workload from 650,000 emails to only a couple hundred, which a single person can read in less than a day,” Errata Security Researcher Robert Graham said in a Nov. 6 blog post.
He went on to say the process could have been carried out in one or two days and been completed before Comey announced that the agency was reviewing the emails.
