Microsoft pushes out fix for deployment issue

A glitch that prevented some Microsoft customers from deploying their June security updates has been corrected.

The issue only affected System Management Server (SMS) 2003 clients running on the System Center Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr) 2007, according to Microsoft. The problem prevented administrators from deploying the seven patches, issued June 10, to the clients.

Affected ConfigMgr 2007 customers are being asked to deploy the update, released Tuesday.

Microsoft said it did not consider the problem a security vulnerability.

Patch management experts said the issue affected only those customers running a specific configuration.
