The U.S. Central Command has denied the Syrian Electronic Army's (SEA) claims that it obtained sensitive data after an alleged hack of its computer systems.
A spokesman for the military division referred to the allegations as “totally bogus,” according to The Tampa Tribune.
On Friday, the pro-Assad hacktivist collective posted a screenshot on Twitter of information it claimed to have gleaned from their ongoing operation dubbed “CENTCOM,” which they said is in retaliation to President Obama's decision to “attack Syria with electronic warfare.”
After reviewing the screenshot, Bob Gourley, former chief technology officer for the Defense Intelligence Agency, told the Tribune that the files in the screenshot are not related specifically to the U.S. Central Command and is unclassified information.
SEA responded to the article via Twitter stating, “We didn't publish everything we have and the operation is still on-going.”
