Volvo plans to secure users’ PDAs

Volvo encrypting data on employees' PDAs using Pointsec

Car maker Volvo is installing encryption software from Pointsec on its employees’ person digital assistants to avoid data being read if devices are lost or stolen.

The company has taken out 2,500 licenses for Pointsec for Pocket PC 2.1, which offers automatic, real-time encryption of all data on a user's PDA, including documents created with Microsoft Outlook, Notes and Pocket Word. The software also automatically secures data stored on removable media.
