Moving On To The Next Chapter

Careers are filled with ups, downs, twists and turns. When I take a moment to look back on my career so far, its certainly been a fun journey. This particular crossroads in my career is special for a whole lot of reasons as it marks the end of an awesome chapter and brings new and exciting opportunities.

Last month I left my position at Tenable Network Security. I spent almost 7 years at Tenable, where I held a variety of roles in product evangelism, product marketing and product strategy. There are too many positive memories to share about my time at Tenable. Okay, I’ll share a couple: When I first started I drove to NJ to speak at a conference and got stuck in traffic for 3+ hours coming home, but so worth it. When I was giving my notice my boss actually broke out a tissue box, almost in protest to my leaving. Its those stories and so much more that made my time at Tenable memorable. I stand behind their products to this day, they remain a sponsor of the show and I wish all of my former co-workers and the company as a whole continued success.

I’ve often given people advice and told them to surround themselves with smart people. I want to modify that slightly, surround yourself with extraordinary people. At Tenable, I was surround by extraordinary people. In my new ventures, I’ve continued to do the same and none of this would be possible without these extraordinary people. Some have been friends and business partners and others have given advice here and there, and for all that and more I am thankful.

I’ve accepted a new role at a security software startup called Offensive Countermeasures where I will serve as CEO and John Strand will serve as CTO. Together with our extraordinary team we’ll create awesome and innovative products that will help protect your users, networks and data from harm. Be prepared to hear more about this soon! You can sign up for pre-release announcements and a beta program on our web site http://offensivecountermeasures.com.

I will also continue to produce (and star in) the award-winning Security Weekly podcast. In fact, Security Weekly will grow from a podcast to a podcast network. We’ve already been producing Hack Naked TV, and you can expect more shows to be added to the portfolio. We’ve successfully executed several projects that will propel us forward, with the ultimate goal to provide you the listeners with even more great content. Some have already noticed the new intros and music for the shows, and this is only the beginning.

As always, thank you for listening and watching all of our shows!
