Facebook was down to users in Europe for approximately two hours on Wednesday. According to reports, a statement released by the social networking giant blamed “technical difficulties." CERT.be, Belgium's federal task force in charge of responding to cyber attacks, tweeted Wednesday that the disruption could be attributed to “an ongoing DDoS attack" but later clarified that it couldn't confirm that. Although there is no clear indicator that a cyber attack on Facebook took place, a tweet from an Anonymous Twitter account hints otherwise: “Looks like things are just warming up. Facebook hit by two-hour blackout.”
