»Corero, an IT security supplier, has acquired Top Layer Networks, maker of intrusion prevention systems and distributed denial-of-service protection solutions, for $15.3 million. Corero is focused on acquiring network security companies and delivering offerings to customers through international channels.
»André DiMino, co-founder and director of the volunteer Shadowserver Foundation, has resigned. DiMino, in a farewell blog post, wrote that “increasing administrative challenges and issues to the point where I am no longer deriving personal fulfillment” were the main reason for his departure. Shadowserver is an intelligence gathering organization that specializes in botnet research.

Previously, Foxhoven was chief information officer and a co-founder of managed services provider CentraComm, where he led development of the company's technology and product initiatives.»Comodo, an internet security provider, has acquired DNS.com, a managed domain name system (DNS) services provider. Former CEO of DNS.com, Dan Kimball, has joined Comodo and is charged with development of the next generation of DNS services. The acquisition allows Comodo to roll out secured DNS and improved management and flow of internet traffic to the company's business customers.
