McAfee has appointed Joe Sexton senior vice president of North American sales. Sexton, who will be responsible for field sales, sales engineering and services, previously held the role of vice president for field operations in the Americas at Mercury Interactive, which since has been acquired by HP.

Agiliance, provider of IT governance, risk and compliance solutions, has appointed Patrick Conte president and CEO. A 20-year veteran of the high-tech industry, Conte's mission will be to drive market leadership. He previously worked as executive VP and GM of field operations at Teneros, an application continuity vendor. Agiliance's founding CEO Pravin Kothari will take on the new position of CTO.

Steelbox Networks, maker of network video distribution and storage devices, has named Kin Mitra vice president of sales in the Americas. Mitra formerly worked as a regional director at Check Point Software. At Steelbox, he will be responsible for working with customers and partners looking to build IP-enabled video surveillance networks.

2factor, provider of mutual authentication and encryption solutions, has launched. The Maumee, Ohio-based company's offerings help secure web transmissions between an organization and its customers and partners. The technology is used to authenticate traffic and eliminate identity theft threats, such as phishing, pharming and keylogging attacks.

Reconnex, an extrusion prevention firm, and BigFix, an IT systems management and compliance provider, have partnered to produce data leak prevention solutions that can enforce compliance across thousands of endpoints. The integrated offerings will allow for management, control and administration, while cutting costs.

Identity Rehab Corp. has changed its name to ID Watchdog to better reflect the Denver-based company's mission to detect and resolve identity issues affecting customers. The firm offers solutions that not only monitor credit accounts but also criminal, medical and Social Security records of those affected by identity theft.

Neupart, an information security risk management and awareness firm, has extended its operations to North America and has opened headquarters in the Seattle area. The expansion is due to an increased market demand for security policy automation and compliance management tools, in addition to security awareness and education solutions. Jim Reavis, the former executive director of the Information Systems Security Association, has been named president.

IntelliVid, Cambridge, Mass.-based provider of video intelligence applications to prevent retail loss, has named Scott Udell vice president of business development. Udell will be charged with leading and managing strategic alliances. With more than 17 years of leadership experience in business development and retail in both large enterprises and venture-funded startups, he most recently worked as head of business development at OATSystems, provider of RFID-enabled solutions.
