Veracode, provider of on-demand application security solutions, has formed an advisory board designed to guide the company in creating and executing its product planning and strategy. Members will focus on one of the following areas: business strategy and development, technical innovation or application scoring and responsible disclosure.

Netgear, maker of routers, adapters and other networking solutions, has acquired privately held Infrant Technologies, a Fremont, Calif.-based enterprise storage technology and data protection provider, for $60 million. Paul Tien, Infrant's president and chief executive officer, will take over as Netgear's vice president and general manager of storage products.

L-1 Identity Solutions, which offers biometrics and credentialing solutions, has acquired privately held Advanced Concepts, provider of IT solutions and systems engineering for U.S. intelligence and military organizations. The $71.5 million purchase allows L-1 to increase its customer base. Last year, Viisage Technology and Identix merged to form L-1.

Active Reasoning, provider of real-time configuration auditing, has partnered with IBM to integrate its solution into the Tivoli Change and Configuration Management Database. The move, according to the companies, will provide users with constant change and event detection, helping to enhance security and forensics capabilities.

Cyber-Ark Software, provider of privileged password management, has teamed up with Oracle to become part of the database company's Extended Identity Management Ecosystem. The integrated solution will provide customers with the ability to manage and provision both personal and shared privileged accounts. The solution also will help organizations better comply with identity management compliance mandates.

Yoggie Security Systems, maker of the miniature Gatekeeper integrated hardware appliance for securing laptops, has named Christophe Korfer as its new global head of consumer sales. He formerly held positions with M-Systems and Iomega and has worked extensively with American and European retailers.

The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) has announced a new program designed to improve service standards across the IT industry. The CompTIA Customer Service Excellence Program combines communication and support training with technical skills. The initiative, created for companies with 100 or more service representatives, also lets participants measure customer satisfaction levels.

Simplicita, provider of safe web navigation solutions, has joined forces with Yahoo to offer internet service providers an automated system that redirects users away from potentially malicious websites that load after a mistyped address is entered. Instead, Yahoo paid and algorithmic search results will appear. Customers of ISPs running the solution can choose to opt out of the service.
