With a new administration and Congress in place, the industry-led Cybersecurity Coalition aims to get some much-needed legislative support on Capitol Hill. Already, the Cybersecurity Coalition, which aims to increase cybersecurity awareness in Congress and effect positive change for the industry, has identified some of the most pressing cybersecurity issues in need of legislative support in 2021.
So what are the priorities? In Episode 2 of the CISO Stories podcast, Sam Curry, chief security officer at Cybereason, interviews Ari Schwartz, managing director for cybersecurity at Venable and coordinator of the Coalition, about the proposed policy changes the Cybersecurity Coalition plans to bring up to members of Congress. Some of the suggestions include improving the policy for E-Rate reimbursements for schools, maintaining protections for security vendors under Section 230, and making unclassified portions of the Vulnerabilities Equities Process public.
