Skills in demand: Security engineers capable of managing and delivering projects

With evolving technology and emerging threats, companies are struggling to find security engineers capable of managing and delivering projects.

What it takes

While strong technical skills are always in demand, the need for those who can design, integrate and operationalize security controls is significant.  These roles include well-developed social skills, a clear understanding of business requirements, a consultative approach and the ability to manage complex projects.

Compensation

Salary is similar to traditional security engineering roles – $90k to $120k – but the qualities that companies look for are changing.
