Imperva, provider of application data security solutions, has appointed Aharon Strosberg vice president of operations. He has more than two decades of hardware operations management experience, most recently serving as vice president of operations for Axerra Networks. Strosberg will help Imperva expand its global customer base.


Jeff Reich has been appointed chief security officer for Rackspace Managed Hosting, a web hosting specialist based in in San Antonio, Texas. He was formerly information security officer at CompuCredit.


Mozilla has announced plans to establish a new company focused on stimulating innovation in email and internet communications. The open-source company plans to create software based on the existing Thunderbird email client. David Ascher, chief technology officer and vice president of engineering at tools vendor ActiveState, will head the new venture.


Insightix, maker of network visibility and network access control (NAC) solutions, has named
Bill Lavelle vice president of sales in the Americas. He most recently served as vice president of sales for Check Point Software Technologies. Lavelle will be charged with driving Insightix's business growth.


FraudSciences, provider of online anti-fraud solutions, has appointed Gadi Maier president and chief executive officer. He previously worked as a partner at Benchmark Capital and
Pinnacle Ventures. Before that, he was co-founder and CEO of virtualization software provider Scalent Systems. Maier also co-founded Currenex, a transaction marketplace for foreign currency, and was CEO of online travel services provider GetThere.


Timothy Williams has been elected president of the board for ASIS International (American Society for Industrial Security). Williams, director of global security at construction equipment manufacturer Caterpillar, succeeds Steve Chupa, director of security at Johnson & Johnson. Chupa has been named chairman.


Honeywell and Imprivata have partnered to integrate their physical and IT access control offerings. The solution combines Honeywell's Pro-Watch and Imprivata's OneSign authentication products to enable organizations to permit or deny access to physical locations and digital networks.


Ken Goldman has joined unified threat management provider Fortinet as its CFO. He previously served as senior VP of finance and administration and CFO of Siebel Systems from August 2000 until it was acquired by Oracle in January 2006.


Acumin Consulting, a European security and risk management recruitment firm, has launched in the United States. The decision came after existing clients demanded more talent in America and a number of U.S. vendor customers expanded their services to Europe.
