Company news: Paul Stitch appointed CEO at Dasient, plus changes at Plan B and BITS

Dasient, an anti-malware technology provider for websites and advertising networks, has appointed Paul Stich (left) CEO. He will be charged with growing the company's customer base, extending its reach into new markets and increasing research and product development. Stich most recently served as VP of global telecommunication solutions at McAfee.

Plan B, a U.K.-based disaster recovery solutions provider, has launched its service in the United States. The company will sell its product under the brand vRescue through a licensing agreement with Weidenhammer, a U.S.-based IT services company. Plan B offers a virtualized solution that recovers working servers, network and infrastructure following a disaster.

BITS, a nonprofit industry consortium that is part of the Financial Services Roundtable, has named William Henley Jr. senior vice president of regulation and Mariana Gomez technology counsel. Henley most recently served as director of IT examination for the U.S. Office of Thrift Supervision, and Gomez previously worked in the roundtable's Government Affairs division.

PhoneFactor, provider of mutifactor authentication solutions, has partnered with IBM by adding support for the Tivoli Access Manager. Organizations now can use PhoneFactor telephone-based authentication solutions to secure Tivoli user sign-ons.

Steve Adegbite (left) has joined the Adobe Secure Software Engineering Team as its senior security strategist. He will be responsible for coordinating relationships with customers, partners and other stakeholders. He previously served as a member of the Microsoft Security Response Center, where he launched the Microsoft Active Protection Program, an initiative where security software providers receive vulnerability information prior to patches being released.
