LogRhythm appoints Preston Lawhorne to VP of sales for the Americas

LogRhythm, maker of log management and SIEM solutions, has appointed Preston Lawhorne to vice president of sales for the Americas. He previously served as VP of North American sales at intrusion prevention system maker TippingPoint Technologies and before that, he was area VP at Network Associates, since acquired by McAfee.

Neustar, provider of managed DNS services, has teamed up with Infoblox, maker of network services appliances, to resell each other’s services and products. Customers now will be able to deploy Neustar’s services in conjunction with Infoblox’s appliance-based DNS, DHCP and IPAM systems to achieve optimal security and performance.

The MashSSL Alliance forms

The MashSSL Alliance, an organization dedicated to promoting the use of the MashSSL open specification, has formed. MashSSL, in the process of being standardized, lets web applications mutually authenticate and establishes a secure channel, without having to trust the user or browser. The alliance is made up of a number of technology certification authorities, including VeriSign and Comodo.

Damballa named Val Rahmani as CEO

Damballa, provider of anti-botnet solutions, has named Val Rahmani as chief executive officer. Rahmani previously served as general manager of IBM Internet Security Systems. In her new role, she will be tasked with growing Damballa’s customer base, market presence and research and product development.

WinMagic to support Intel’s Anti-Theft Technology

WinMagic, provider of full-disk encryption, has announced it will support Intel’s Anti-Theft Technology. Promotions at NetMotion Wireless

NetMotion Wireless, provider of mobile VPN solutions, has promoted Matthew Scott to VP of technical scales and support and Rob Mattson to VP of business development. Scott will be charged with leading all customer-facing technical scales teams, while Mattson will be tasked with developing strategic relationships and market strategies.
