Cyber Monday scam emails hit inboxes

Spammers have begun trying to capitalize on the Cyber Monday buying frenzy. One such bogus offer, arriving Monday in inboxes with the subject line:  “Hello:Cyber Monday: BREAKING NEWS – iPad2 Auctions $17!,” promises 90 percent off of iPads and Apple, Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at anti-virus firm Sophos, said in a blog post Monday. Another email is falsely claiming discounts on Adobe software. Security experts last week predicted phishing attacks, survey scams and poisoned search engine results would increase on Cyber Monday, the unofficial start of the online holiday shopping season.
