Panda Security has named Rick Carlson (left) president of U.S. operations; Keith Lubner, VP of channels; and Sydney Curtis, VP of marketing. The trio previously held roles at AVG, Veritas Software and EarthLink. Additionally, Panda has opened a U.S. headquarters in Orlando, Fla., with a regional office remaining in Glendale, Calif.

Apple has named Window Snyder senior product manager for security. She formerly held positions at Mozilla, Matasano Security, Microsoft and @stake. Amazon has hired George Stathakopoulos, former GM of Microsoft's Trustworthy Computing group, to a security management role. Stathakopoulos is expected to be replaced by Matt Thomlinson, who had been serving as senior director within Trustworthy Computing.

HBGary Federal, provider of classified security services to the U.S. Department of Defense and the intelligence community, has partnered with Palantir Technologies, maker of analytics platforms. HBGary's team of researchers will leverage Palantir's analysis tool suite to provide enhanced threat intelligence.

Xceedium, provider of identity-based access control solutions, has appointed Jay Zimmet as EVP of global sales. He formerly served as VP of North American sales for Verizon Business' security products and services group and as VP of worldwide sales at NetSec.

The Information Security Forum, an international nonprofit whose mission is to identify IT security benchmarks and best practices, has appointed Greg Garcia (left) as strategic adviser for North America. Garcia previously served as assistant secretary for cybersecurity and communications at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He's charged with driving membership.

Conformity, provider of enterprise-class management and governance solutions, has partnered with Ping Identity to offer customers visibility and control over SaaS solutions. The combined offerings will give end-users the ability to manage and control user access and authorizations to cloud applications.

ActivIdentity has teamed up with managed security provider idOnDemand. The company plans to integrate ActivIdentity's technology to offer a cloud-based system for managing smart cards.

Wedge Networks has launched a Partner Prestige Program, seeking to grow its list of global resellers and distribution partnerships. Program benefits include deal registration, lead distribution, protective renewal margins, market development support and sales incentives.
