An ex-CBS reporter is suing the federal government for $35 million, claiming that the feds hacked into her computer.
Journalist Sharyl Attkisson filed a suit accusing the government of violating the Constitution by tracking both her work and personal computer and phone from 2011 to 2013, according to a report by The Hill.
Attkisson left CBS in March 2014 after a nearly two decade-long stint. During her tenure, she wrote stories on the 2012 attack at a U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya, in addition to other controversial topics that involved President Obama. In a book she released last year, Attkisson claims she was targeted by the government because of her work.
Prior to filing the lawsuit, Attkisson had filed an administrative claim under the Federal Tort Claims Act accusing Justice Department and U.S. Postal Service of monitoring her work.
