A developer has created a dark web version of GitHub that he promotes as being a politically neutral platform that is also anonymous.
The site, git.psi.i2p, went live last week and is accessible through both Tor's browser and a newer technology called I2P, according to Vice's Motherboard.
The git's creator Jeff Becker told Motherboard that he won't be complying with any government requests to take down content on the site adding that politically taking sides is ruining the internet's meritocracy. Becker did suggest that he won't stand for the “troll-ier side” of coding that can lead to racial discrimination.
“Anonymity creates the purest forms of meritocracy that can exist in human society currently,” Becker told Motherboard.
People living under oppressive government regimes and pirates have already began to make use of Becker's git repository including the creators of a Russian pro-privacy Facebook-like social network called Onelon, the report said.
