Hyatt Hotels implements bug bounty program

Hyatt Hotels has partnered with HackerOne to launch a bug bounty program to help stave off cyberattacks similar to what the hotel chain suffered in 2017 and the much larger Marriott breach that exposed millions of customers data.

The open program will ask ethical hackers to look at Hyatt’s online presence at Hyatt.com, m.hyatt.com, world.hyatt.com, and the iOS and Android versions of the Hyatt mobile app, the company said in a release.

“At Hyatt, protecting guest and customer information is our top priority and launching this program represents an important step that further sour goal of keeping our guests safe every day,” said Hyatt CISO Benjamin Vaughn.

In 2017 Hyatt was victimized with a point-of-sale breach that impacted 41 properties worldwide and revealed the information for any payment cards that were swiped at the hotel’s front desk.
