ISACA announces entry-level cybersecurity certificate

Global IT association ISACA has created a new cybersecurity certificate that's intended for those looking to break into the field.

Aimed at college students and recent graduates, entry-level security professionals and anyone looking to get into the industry, the “knowledge-based” Cybersecurity Fundamentals Certificate only requires a candidate to pass a single online exam at a cost of $150, according to a recent release.

Candidates looking to earn the certificate are tested on five key areas, including cybersecurity concepts, cybersecurity architecture principles, cybersecurity of networks, systems, applications and data, incident response and security of evolving technology.

The new certificate differs from those previously created by ISACA – such as the CISA, CISM, CGEIT and CRISC – because candidates do not need previous professional experience to take the exam.
