Microsoft launches new bug bounty program

Microsoft launched its new Online Services Bug Bounty program earlier this week with the first project involving Office 365.

The program's emphasis on mobile and cloud security continues to round out the company's growing bug bounty program portfolio, according to a Microsoft blog post. The Office 365 team expanded on its inclusion in the program, saying it is participating for multiple reasons.

“We work hard to develop secure software and defend our services from breaches, but we recognize that security is a journey and not a destination, and we are always looking for way to move faster," Travis Rhodes, senior security lead, wrote in a separate post.

Researchers age 14 and older can participate. Bounties start at $500.
