New Cyber Command head

The new U.S. Cyber Command will be headed by U.S. National Security Agency director Keith Alexander, if Congress approves his nomination by President Obama. He also would continue in his role at NSA. The U.S. Cyber Command, based in Ft. Meade, Md., is expected to become fully operational by October 2010 as part of the Department of Defense's U.S. Strategic Command. The announcement was made this week by Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who ordered the creation of the Cyber Command this summer. Alexander was also nominated to be promoted to full general. — CAM
