The U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed the USA Freedom Act today with 338 Representatives voting in favor of the bill and only 88 against it.
If passed into law, the bill would address Section 215 of the Patriot Act, which is set to expire on June 1. The new legislation would simultaneously curb the National Security Agency's (NSA) collection of bulk metadata while also extending certain portions of the Patriot Act.
The Obama Administration voiced its support for the legislation earlier this week.
