NFL’s Twitter account hacked, announces commissioner Goodell’s death

The NFL confirmed today that its Twitter account was hacked today with a tweet being posted stating that league commissioner Roger Goodell was dead.

CNN reported that it has confirmed with the NFL that the hack took place with the following message appearing at 12:36pm: We regret to inform our fans that our commissioner, Roger Goodell, has passed away. He was 57. #RIP.

For the short period the tweet was live it was like 792 times and retweeted 2,127 times. The hacker followed up the initial message with two others that taunted the NFL's Twitter team.

Goodell was in good company with celebrities Katy Perry, Jack Black, Tenacious D and Kylie Jenner all having their Twitter accounts hacked this week.
