Phishing scammers are targeting a US government website and duping users into giving over personal details.
Fraudsters sent emails entitled "Urgent information to all credit card holders", which said a new law required the reader to identify themselves to the government to "create a secure and safer Internet community." The email linked to a phoney 'regulations.gov' website, which requested personal financial information.
Regulations.gov belongs to the Bush administration. It asks users to comment on federal regulations, sometimes requesting personal details.
