Pornhub, RedTube ditch Flash to hook up with HTML5

Adult content site Pornhub announced Tuesday that it will switch from using Flash-based content and instead opt for HTML5.

HTML5 is considered more secure and dependable and is becoming the industry standard with Google and Firefox slowly eliminating Flash content from their browsers and it was only a matter of time before the adult site made the switch, Pornhub Vice President Corey Price told Vice's Motherboard.

“All adult sites should make the transition to HTML5. Flash is nearly dead,” Price said.

RedTube, a Pornhub affiliate site, is also expected to make the switch in the next few weeks, a spokesman told that publication.

The move comes after just days after an announcement that nearly 800,000 unique accounts from the adult site Brazzers were impacted from a breach which occurred in 2012 and stemmed from a flaw in vBulletin forum software.
