SEC Twitter account hacked, inappropriate pics posted

A prankster Saturday hacked the official SEC (Southeastern Conference) Twitter account and posted pictures of scantily clad women.

"We became aware of it when we saw some retweets," SEC spokesman Herb Vincent said in a statement tweeted by ESPN.com's Darren Rovell. "The images were removed immediately, our password changed and we notified Twitter.”

The SEC Twitter account is now functioning normally.

The SEC tweeted an apology Saturday following the incident. The hack comes just a few weeks after an attacker gained access to the NFL's Twitter account and used it to send unauthorized tweets, including one which falsely claimed NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell had died.

Currently, there is no evidence that the two attacks are related.
